The reason why my mother, Virginia, wrote the book the Rules of Spelling is because she wanted people to know how to spell correctly without using computers or spelling gagets. She knew that they could take a computer and spelling gagets away from you, but what you did know in your head they could not take away from you. She meant nobody can take knowledge away from you. She was a caring person who liked to help other people in many ways, and she wanted people to get the education they needed to survive in the world.
Virginia Yoerg went back to college in (1968-1971) and got her degree in art and special education. When she graduated, she got a position at 916 Vocational Technical Collage and taught reading, English, and spelling. When she discovered that some of her students couldn't spell very well, she decided to write a book on The Rules of Spelling. She discovered that a lot of people couldn't spell that well so she wanted to make an impact on the lives of many people by giving them simple rules on how to spell.
