About the Book

THIS IS NOT JUST ANOTHER

BOOK  OF  POEMS!

..these  don't even rhyme!  Each verse is a mini-story of exactly 26  words,  each with an initial letter in  ALPHABETICAL ORDER...A to Z!   An  amazing-unusual- amusing collection of a newer style journalistic  art-form;   each verse,   whether  'goofy',  or  serious,   is well intended to  strike  your  fancy somewhere,  where ever you keep it hidden.  They are  neither cryptic nor labyrinth in nature; only intended to entertain,  fascinate  and hold you spellbound for hours as you wait,  commute, ride or jet,  or,  just have free-time in between two other events.  Open the book and see., read several as you laugh yourself  ' amazingly amused'  silly!  Later on,  after being infected with the jest of your own laughter,  be brave...come on...lay your pencil-to-the-paper,  and express YOUR  own brand of zaniness.  Want some party- time fun?   First:  think of a topic-subject..Secondly:  let a designated starter  think of an  'A'  initial  word,  then,  the next in line express  a  'B'  initial  word,  and so on,  till a full story unfolds,  ending  with a  'Z'  word!  Keep a record of it,  then  e-Mail it to me.  However, if you're only a  reader,  and not a writer, pick-up several copies of  'SOUP' ..they're bound to excite family and friends in their forlorn moments.

About the Author

A native of Los Angeles and its education system, Al got an early start on writing at age 11, beginning with his first poem. Writing soon dismissed all other interests, except for cartooning and music, leading him to writing his own narrations for radio; next, on to radio scripts. Stage plays were next in line, while yet scribing his poetry. While in the WWII military, writing narratives and doing the narrations for training films took him yet another step higher; writing his first textbook – “HANDBOOK OF OPERATING-ROOM TECHNIQUE FOR THE MEDICAL SOLDIER”, wherein his artistic skills capably drew all of the illustrations as well. Al’s musical urge joined forces with his writing, leading him to writing country lyrics and melodies for 76 songs-one of which is a lilting melody, ‘SAN CLEMENTE’, which he wrote for then President, RICHARD M. NIXON. Meanwhile, his poetic entourage was growing into a figure way above 600. TEFL/TESL lured him into teaching Chinese immigrants in schools in Los Angeles, San Francisco-and then, on to Taiwan where Al wrote over 25 English teaching textbooks for two Taiwanese publishers, plus his own specialty books, one of which is his spin on ‘SPEECH AND DEBATE,’ which he taught at four Universities on Taiwan. Al currently has other manuscripts in the ‘mill’;  ‘ALPHABET SOUP II’; and it would be sinful, since he and his Taiwanese wife ‘Leana’ are dual cat lovers, to not mention that Al also has two other manuscripts on the writing board centered around their two precious cats. You should find “ALPHABET-ALPHABET SOUP” to be a real PAGE TURNER in book sales and reader enjoyment!!
