Tracy Wilson
It is a typical day at the beach for the Wilson family’s picnic—or was it? An amazingly, unique sea creature, named Juniper asks Forest and Aarin if they could help rescue her family of Seakorns.
It is said that Seakorns are created from the tears of a Unicorn. When the Unicorn’s magical tears touch the Gulf’s salt water, it creates new life in the form of very small Seakorns. The children receive a magical gift of swimming underwater, never needing to surface for air; they are also safe from all the harmful fish they might encounter under water and the children have the ability to communicate with all creatures of the sea.
Forest and Aarin’s adventure takes them through many different sea colonies with the guided help from their friends, Juniper the Seakorn and Sharpina, an extremely funny swordfish. The children’s ultimate mission is to save the taken Seakorns, held in Sea Colony Twelve. Their adventure starts on an isolated beach in the Florida panhandle and winding its way through many uniquely different sea colonies.
The newly formed groups of friends become faced with confronting the misunderstood Portuguese man-of-war. All of the Gulf’s creatures believe that these man-of-war are trying to control all life in the Gulf of Mexico. In the end, Forest and Aarin understand that it is not good to listen to just rumors, and miscommunication leads to misunderstandings and possible unnecessary wars. The children learn to have all the correct facts when making a big decision that might affect others!
Children are my muse in life. I write to escape life through fantasy in hopes to reach children in a happier place in time. I dedicate "Legends of the Seakorn" to my extraordinary children, Forest and Aarin and may this book take you both to a place you dare to go.
"Brilliant stars of the heavens
Were placed into the sea.
When God blessed ocean creatures
With their own astrology.
As we gaze into the waters
His wondrous plans unfold.
The STARFISH sings his song of praise
While spun in noble gold.
The Lord created sea creatures and waters
wherein they swim
Man and fish, on earth and in sea
Owe their very lives to Him."

It was a hot summer day for the townspeople living in Navarre Beach, Florida. The humid air played off the Gulf’s waves while the seagulls hunted along the beachside sand for food to eat.
It started as a regular day for the Wilson’s picnicking in the soft sand, feeding hungry seagulls. Forest and Aarin decided to play on the shoreline, hunting for special rocks, delicate shells, or whatever else they got their hands on. The children started to walk farther away from their picnic spot. Forest spotted something strange and amazing bobbing up and down in the water. It appeared small and alive, but it was mysterious to him. Aarin noticed the same sight and tried to grab it. In no time at all, both Forest and Aarin where knee-deep in the water as the small swells of water hit their waistline. Forest, who was ten, tried to tell Aarin, who was seven, to be careful with whatever it was swimming in the water, and to let him get to it first, because of the possible dangers that lurked in parts of the Gulf.
Forest and Aarin proceeded to get closer to what they thought was a stick. Skirting close to the shoreline, both children encountered the strange, stick-like creature. Suddenly, something happened; first, it brushed up against Forest's leg, softly striking him. Afterward, it gently jabbed Aarin on her right leg. Both Forest and Aarin quickly dashed out of the water and proceeded to lie down on the warm, soft sand, both desperately trying to understand what had happened to them. At that moment, while lying on the soft sand in shock, Forest asked Aarin if she was in a lot of pain. She replied that her leg hurt a little bit; reassuring Forest, she was going to be okay. Both decided to sit still for a few minutes, and eyes remained fixed on the stick-like figure, dancing past the small swell of waves.
As they were sitting there, they saw it again. This time it was dancing in the water. It was as if it might perhaps, walk on water. The children looked at each other in amazement, then back out at this
