     Toofer, two books in one, is comprised of  “Vaudeville Blues – A Play in One Scene,” and “Leftovers,” a collection of the author’s old writings.   

 

     The play was written in 2005, and the old writings date from 1973 to 1991.

 

     Toofer is the author’s sixth published book. 

About the Author

     Bob Brackin lives in Orlando, Florida.  He’s a 1975 graduate of the University of Central Florida, with a B.A. degree in English.

     Richard appears at the right rear of the stage.  He stands for a moment, then takes a few steps forward.  He then walks to the left side of the stage.  He reaches the left side, just as Cheryl comes around the large pillar.  She startles him.

 

Richard: 

Damn, you scared me. 

Cheryl:

I’m sorry.

Richard:

It’s all right.  I just didn’t think anybody was here.  This place seems deserted. 

Cheryl:

Uh, it mostly is, except for myself, and Mr. and Mrs. Talbot.  They’re both in the back. 

Richard:

Oh.  He pauses.  Do you work here?

Cheryl:

Yeah, I have a small role in the play.  

 Richard:

Oh, I see.  He pauses.  My friend Marc works here.  Do you know him?

Cheryl:

Yes. 

Richard:

He pauses.  Any idea if he’s been here today, or if he’s going to be here?
