During the years that tested my faith, I definitely remember a time when I did not want the gift myself. I had been abruptly visited by a woman I like to call “the lady in black” around the age of seventeen. It was a rather nasty night with an electrical storm rolling through the area when I finally dozed off to sleep. With moisture and electricity around (as mentioned earlier), I always find it hard to sleep as I can sense spirits much more during thunderstorms. Around 1:30 a.m., I woke up to a loud thunder crack most likely striking a nearby tree. As my eyes came into focus, I noticed a sort of shadow to my right. I rubbed my eyes to focus fully and noticed a woman standing near the bed in a black wedding gown. Even now, some nine years later, I still get bad vibes talking about her.
Naturally, she caught my attention so I attempted to focus on her for a better visual. She was Caucasian with short black hair, pale skin, and bright red lipstick finely applied. After several moments of glaring, she continued to simply just stand there. I didn’t recognize her and frankly didn’t want her there, but for whatever reason, this time felt different. I wasn’t comfortable like I usually was at that point in seeing a spirit with my own eyes. She seemed sad and distant. I tried to ignore her for a little while but her presence continued to keep me awake. In an effort to get her full attention, I reached out to touch her dress. I was able to actually feel the dress material, which was an absolutely new experience for a then developing medium. Frankly, it scared the crap out of me so I called for my mother in the other room. She came rushing in, noticing the woman first, and abruptly asked me to leave the room.
