About the Book

With rich imagery of verse, Writing Out the Storm, takes the reader into a state of consciousness where poetic thinking conveys a heightened form of perception, experience, and meaning.  The language will shift its focus from love, life, death, and the infinite depths of the human soul.  This collection of poems puts you in the eye of a storm.  This storm consists of energy, playfulness, boldness, and honesty.  You can not help but come along for the ride as you relate to the emotions that define the philosophical sense of being.  The words will leap up off the page and dare you not to feel.  This enlightened collection of poems is sure to give solace and inspiration to the heart.

Dream

Can you imagine going to a place

Where everything is elegantly trimmed in lace

Where nothing can harm you in any way

Anything and everything you do is okay

There would be no wont to do harm

Everyone would want to be safe and warm

Music soothes, sun shines

Lyrics play softly in your mind

Poets run, and singers dance

Everything is looked at with a second glance

Thing are broken down into detail

There is no need for wearing a veil

Storms come as quickly as they go

Summer mornings are spent lying on the grass

People cherish and people love

The sacred bird is a white dove

This is a land not in a tale

But a place where your imagination sets sail

Days pass and joys last

Peace is everywhere that you ask

Little drummer boys drum

Girls in white attire hum

Bells send out their gothic tone

In my dreams, this is home

A place where I dare to run free

I can pet and charm a bee

I can run through a field of daisies

I can count people adorned in sharp paisleys

Occupations don’t exist

There is no need to make and check lists

Nature and humanity coexist

Take

Knowing how you can take

My light away by closing your eyes

Knowing how you can take

My identity away by closing your mind

Knowing how you can take

My thoughts away by closing your ears

Knowing how you can take

My love away by closing your heart

Leads me to know you can take

My life away by opening your mouth
