About the Author

Diane V. (Snow-Hewitt) Jay has been married 28 years and is the mother of two high school children—a son who is 17 years old and a daughter who is nearly 15 years old.  She works part-time as a dental hygienist.

Her favorite book is the Bible and she has enjoyed studying it on her own, at Prairie Bible Institute in Alberta, Canada and also some at the Dallas Seminary Lay Institute in Dallas, Texas.  Studying American history is another one of her interests, as well as tracing her family’s genealogy, gardening and being involved in her church.  She also dabbles in house repair projects, photography and enjoys very short tent-camping trips.  Over the years, she has traveled extensively in the United States and down into Latin America and to several parts of Africa, sometimes being involved in mission work in these areas.  She loves other languages and cultures, but she also loves being an American.  Some of her heroes include Henry David Thoreau, Mark Twain, Christopher Columbus, the Pilgrims and Squanto, the patriots and early settlers of this country, George Washington and David Crockett.  Being from the Rochester, New York area, she greatly appreciates the work of Susan B. Anthony and Frederick Douglass.  She’s also a big fan of both the President George Bush’s and their lovely wives.

The town’s group stared at him astounded.  Telleo’s words were inspired and captivating.  His “Vision of Silverado” opened their minds to thoughts they’d never imagined before.  Basta especially was overcome and declared, “Telleo, I cannot believe it!  You make me want to run over to the Edomah and shout ‘Here I am! Take me!’ The way you present the situation it sounds like suffering is the greatest privilege we have ever had.”

“And that it is…” said Telleo.

Then the group said, “We will think carefully on this…”

Before they dispersed though, Reuben said, “Telleo, Please tell us one of the stories that Silverado has told you of Los Cielos to cheer us up…”

So Telleo began, “There is an enormous company of artists there, and as we are formed, Silverado asks each of these artists to design an outer soul garment for us of sparkling colors.  At His command, they all run to get their brushes and they dip them into the most fantastic colors beyond the rainbow and the shimmering Golden Splendor.  Then once they are done, they quickly return to show Silverado their ideas. El Pelo Blanco smiles and winks at El Aguila and says, “We’ll have to create another world, for I cannot make up My mind.  I want them all!”  And the artists all blush with His lavish praise.”

The sober little group was quiet and then sighed a collective sigh and remarked, “What a beautiful world is Los Cielos!”

As the group returned stealthily to their respective hideouts to await news of the advancing Edomah troops, Telleo thought to himself, “What do I really know of El Pelo Blanco?”

Sometimes while floating over the woods in his dark feathers or wandering below along a sunlit path in the piney woods, a Thought would come.  A Thought so strong, It placed Itself in his very mind.  There was within him, outside him, above and below him, in fact all about him and through him yet separate from him, the Very Being of El Pelo Blanco.

On the last occasion as Telleo was thus superimposed, he had sensed something new, for this time he’d certainly seen...

A Reflective Figure, composed but at ease, engaged in thought, peering into… What?  What did this Being of Intellect ponder?  That’s when Telleo also realized that there was an enormous crystal portal before Silverado’s gaze.  This crystal had many facets like a fine cut jewel.  But He did not need it to see; He merely looked through it.  He could see with no aid, with no crystal, with no eyes even.  He absorbed everything simultaneously.

Though Telleo could not comprehend what it was that Silverado saw, he could see His figure some.  Mainly he saw His back, shoulder and side profile.  It was the face and head that initially caught his attention.

El Pelo Blanco’s hair was very white and thick with the silvery sheen of moonlight to it.  It fell to slightly below His shoulders and was straight with only the slightest wave.  It was parted in the middle, and swept back casually yet elegantly.  His face was mature and had the suggestion of age and wisdom but was in no way haggard or worn out.  He appeared lanky, but not gaunt.  His nose was thin yet with a bony, distinctive, aristocratic-looking ridge.

But it was the grey eyes that most attracted Telleo’s curiosity, for they were riveted on the portal.  Then Telleo realized that El Pelo Blanco’s whole concentration was intensely focused on His creation, which included Telleo!  Nothing escaped His attention; everything mattered!  He was very serious about the welfare of what He had called into existence.  He was a Study in powerful concern.  He was possessed by His meditation--and appeared completely lost in thought.

He seemed to be eagerly searching and deliberately in pursuit of something.  “It is there, it is there.  I will put My finger upon it and make it Mine.”  There was an expression of pensive imagination, unborn creation and then sudden delight.  With decisive intent, the Voice, a mere whisper (yet how it echoed) proclaimed, “There, it is settled.  I know what I shall do!”

It was then that the Figure leaned back and turned with a smile to the astonished Telleo.

All this occurred as a Thought, as a revelation in Telleo’s mind in a split second of time.  But the impression was etched indelibly…  the smile and then the Voice, that unmistakable Voice.

“Téleiós, Perfect One, I saw you there behind Me.  I heard your concerns about your people, the Yemimah.  They are My people, too.”  And then He’d shared that plan which Telleo had told to his townspeople at the meeting in the woods.

El Pelo Blanco was so cordial that Telleo felt immediately at ease.  This was the first visual encounter he’d ever had with this Celestial Being, Who was once described as the Best of all Beings and Heart-knower or Mind-Searcher.  One of His short names was Silverado, but He had countless other names.  El Pelo Blanco--the White-Haired One was one of His more formal ones.  So many eras and cultures and languages, so many interesting names…  He loved them all.  Even the animals had names for Him that only He could decipher.  Even the plants!  Even the molecules!  To Him everything was one BIG POSSIBILITY, eternally.
