About the Author
The author received his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas in 1969 and has been a registered Professional Engineer in the state of Texas since 1980. He has taught a couples Sunday School Class at the First Baptist Church of Bevil Oaks, Texas since 1982 and was ordained as a deacon in that church in 1983. He studied through the entire Bible verse-by-verse twice since 1978 and has written a verse-by-verse commentary on over 90% of the Old Testament and all of the New Testament. The author believes that the 66 books of the Bible contain God's completed Word to mankind and that scripture must be interpreted as literally as possible for one to discover ultimate truth from it. He is also convinced that one must approach the scriptures with a penitent heart or the Lord will not hear one's prayer for understanding (Ps. 66:18). The Lord has shown the author so much truth that he believes others to be unaware of, especially concerning prophecy and the book of Revelation in particular, that he has a burning desire to widely publish these truths.

Who God's Word Says Jesus Christ Really Is

The Second Person of the Holy Trinity, Who we Christians know as Jesus Christ, is the Creator and Sustainer of all that was, is or will ever be. Speaking of Jesus Christ in John 1:1-18 as the Creator and Giver of life, verses 1-5 of that passage of scripture says, 'In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The Same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by Him; and without Him was not any thing made that was made. In Him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the Light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.' Paul, in Ephesians 3:9, said concerning his own mission to the Gentiles, that it was his divine appointment 'to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, Who created all things by Jesus Christ.' Colossians 1:16&17 describes Jesus Christ as the Creator and Sustainer of all that is when it says, 'For by Him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by Him, and for Him: And He is before all things, and by Him all things consist.' Hebrews 1:2&3 says that God 'Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, Whom He hath appointed Heir of all things, by Whom also He made the worlds; Who being the brightness of His glory, and the express image of His Person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high.' Speaking of the Word of God, Who is Jesus Christ (John 1:1-18), as the Sustainer of all that is, 2 Peter 3:7 says, 'the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same Word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.' Revelation 4:11 says Jesus Christ 'hast created all things.' The Second Person of the Holy Trinity, Who Christians know as Jesus Christ, is at the very least witnessed to all who ever live beyond the age of moral accountability as the Creator (Rom. 1:19&20). Therefore I often use the designation 'Creator' in this book when those Gentiles who have never lived under Judaism or heard the Gospel of Jesus Christ are being talked about or referred to.

The Second Person of the Holy Trinity, Who Christians know as Jesus Christ, was also the LORD of the Old Testament --- the preincarnate Christ. In Genesis 48:15&16, Israel (Jacob) addressed Him as 'God, before Whom my fathers, Abraham and Isaac did walk, the God which fed me all my life long unto this day, The Angel which redeemed me from all evil.' Jesus Christ is the only One Who can redeem any sinner and He was known to Israel (Jacob) and all Old Testament saints as 'the Angel of the LORD.' This is why Jesus, referring to the Old Testament, told His Jewish audience in John 5:39 'Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life; and they are they which testify of Me.'

David said in Psalm 23:1, 'the LORD is my Shepherd.' But Jesus Christ said in John 10:14-16, 'I am the good Shepherd, and know My sheep, and am known of Mine. As the Father knoweth Me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down My life for the sheep. And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear My voice; and there shall be one fold, and one Shepherd.' Hebrews 13:20 calls Jesus 'the great Shepherd' and 1 Peter 5:4 calls Him 'the chief Shepherd.' There is only 'one Shepherd' of God's people and that is the Creator LORD Jesus Christ.

David said in Psalm 23:6, 'Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.' But the book of Revelation, in chapters 21 and 22, describes the 'new Jerusalem' that is the eternal abode of all saints of God where God's throne is and where we will see the Lamb's (Christ's) face (Rev. 22:3&4). 'The (eternal) house of the LORD' is where Jesus Christ will forever be manifested to His own who include all of the saved out of all of time of this creation.

We know from the New Testament scriptures quoted above (John 1:1-18, Eph. 3:9, Col. 1:16, Heb. 1:2&3, 2 Pet. 3:7, Rev. 4:11) that Jesus Christ is our Creator and Sustainer. But Psalm 33:6-9 in the Old Testament says, 'By the word of the LORD were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of His mouth. He gathereth the waters of the sea together as an heap: He layeth up the depth in storehouses. Let all the earth fear the LORD: let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of Him. For He spake, and it was done; He commanded, and it stood fast.' Psalm 100:3 adds to this by saying, 'Know ye that the LORD He is God: it is He that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are His people, and the sheep of His pasture.' Jesus Christ of the New Testament and the LORD of the Old Testament have to be one and the same since they are both designated as the 'Creator,' the One Who made us, and 'Sustainer,' the One Who keeps us in 'His pasture.'

Isaiah said in the Old Testament, in Isaiah 6:1-3, 'In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and His train filled the temple. Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly. And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of His glory.' Yet the Apostle John is clearly talking about Jesus Christ when he later refers to this incident in the New Testament and says in John 12:41, 'These things said Esaias, when he saw His (Jesus Christ's) glory, and spake of Him (Jesus Christ).' This again proves that the Old Testament 'LORD of hosts' was the preincarnate Jesus Christ of the New Testament.

Isaiah 43:11 in the Old Testament declares, 'I, even I, am the LORD; and beside Me there is no saviour.' Yet the angel told the shepherds in Luke 2:11, 'For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.'
