Reginald G. Psychic Ability or Mystical Experience?

The transcendent experience has been scientifically recorded for years and is practiced by humans.  We have many names for it and each person is affected by another person’s consciousness here on earth and beyond the veil of life.

The term “psychic” has been taken so far out of context, and has become so blemished, it becomes nearly impossible to believe we will ever have a spiritual “homecoming” to the English language.  However a psychic is one who uses God-given powers of the Spirit and are usually in an altered and/or controlled state of “pure mental activity” at a very high level; however, a mystic or prophet is usually endowed with another state of being which is “purely intuitive” which is above and beyond the psychic level–the dynamic spiritual level.  As I have said many times to clients, “Prayer is when you speak with God; intuition is God answering you.”   There are times given to these “gifts” some of which are as follows: clairvoyance (to see with the mind’s eye).  God gives you inner vision today, just as He did with the prophets of old.  Check out the Bible when Paul said, “...yet when I am among mature Christians, I do speak with words of great wisdom, but not the kind that comes from here on earth, and not the kind that appeals to great men of this world, who are doomed to fall.”  (I Corinthians 2:6).  Some others God gave the gift of clairaudience (clear spiritual hearing), such as the gift Joan of Arc had.  These people hear the voice of God and receive information from a higher reality of existence.  Still, there are those with the gift of Psychometry, or dermo-optics, the ability to touch objects and receive accurate information about the owner, whether living or passed on.  There are many other gifts as well.  This is only to demonstrate that we cannot limit God with our religious beliefs, especially when all religion is man-made.  What is more important...your religion or your relationship with God.  Dramatic progress has been made in scientific research into the mind, augmenting our understanding of psychic energy, including both the right and left sides of the brain and their functions, bio-magnetic energy used by “faith healers” of the past for creating “miracles,” and the phantom or whole leaf effect, using Kirlian photography to see “auras” or the life force around all living things.

I grew up Methodist, and was told what was good, bad and ugly--which made me very thirsty for more of the close cosmic experience with God.  One should never tell a fresh, young and fertile mind  “never” do something...it makes him or her more curious!  I read the Bible, participated in the sacrament and other processes and rituals.  The church seemed “empty” in providing me with any ways to quench my thirst for knowledge and power from the spiritual standpoint of self-unfolding in the mystical experience.  I read stories of Jesus saying that we were sons and daughters of God and that He would provide for our needs–spiritual and physical.  Yet, if we saw someone who was spiritually advanced with remarkable mystical skill, we would label them a demon or a fake.  Where was the excitement and child-like fun in serving God in my church?  God has sent His Spirit and that Spirit shows us the “occult” or deeper secrets of God that has been mysteriously replaced with robotic programming from the pulpit to the ever-hungry masses seeking true enlightenment.
