About the Book

The title Letting Go to Create Magic came from Pat's own personal experiences learning about the energy that exists within and around all of us.

Pat shares a dramatic family crisis in her book when she and her husband made a life-changing decision to have their fifteen-year-old son kidnapped to attend a special high school in Western Samoa.

During the nine months her son was away, Pat discovered how our environments are a mirror of what we are creating. This book communicates the positive impact that Letting Go can have on our lives.

A woman and two men came to our home at 11 p.m., went to his room and escorted him out as we watched. They took him from our home, driving him to a hospital in Utah where he would be prepared with passport and required shots for the trip to Western Samoa.

I knew that allowing him to find his own answers, in his own time, would help him to discover who he is. Since the school was a self-directed study program, I let go of any attachment of how long he might be gone. He lived in a grass hut, slept on a cement floor, and attended a very structured high school, owned by Americans, and run by the natives of Western Samoa in this rather primitive country. I learned what the word "trust" meant.

Letting go of my child was the hardest thing I have ever done. Letting go of my need to be the one who found all the "right" answers for him and rescued him seemed to be a key factor. Allowing someone else to help me, being able to surrender and trust, all played a factor and was not easy for me to do. I have seen how letting go creates magic, joy, and abundance.

The first day on board ship I had this deep desire to play bingo and I told my husband, "I know you are going to win, buy some cards to play." Because of our limited funds he hesitated at first to play. Then he bought one for each of us. I was so amazed when I won that I had a hard time speaking up. The winning pot of $600 was to be split among all the winners, but I was the only winner! My winnings helped pay for most of our trip.

Was the universe saying, "You’ll be O.K., you made the right decision?" Could it be that when you come from a place of love and ask for help, you will be supported in what you ask for? I now believe so.

Because of my own exciting experiences with the magic of this energy during the past five years, I want to share those experiences with you now. It is my hope that these experiences might help you to become more aware and enable you to go from your mind into your heart in order to improve relationships and create your own dreams and desires.
