This book is a chronicle account of the supernatural events that occurred in the life of the author. The out of the body phenomenon, the prophetic dream, the heavenly visitor who saved his life. Since these events occurred during the time he was in the military serving in the south pacific, the book contains some of his experiences on the battlefields.
This book tells how faith in God and prayer brought about extraordinary miraculous, very welcome consequences. Events before and after world war 2 are covered, there is humor and violence in these pages, reading them is sure to stir up the emotions, some laughter and probably some tears. This is enjoyable reading, once started it is hard to lay it down.
Robert was born on June 13, 1925 at Carleton, Nebraska, the youngest of the twelve children of George and Cecelia Damm. He attended Carleton public school and graduated in 1942. Robert was just an average student but his favorite subject was english and when his teacher told him that he had a gift for writing, he enrolled in a correspondence course in journalism during his senior year. He finished the course but didn’t do any writing.
Robert’s social life centered around the Church, he sang in the choir, he was confirmed, he attended the youth meetings and Bible study groups. Two of Robert’s uncles were Lutheran ministers and they were regular visitors in his home. It was during this time that the supernatural events started, first the out of the body experience, then the prophetic dreams and the appearance of Angels.
Robert returned from the war with invisible scars and wounds as real as those caused by the enemies bullets and shrapnel. He had suffered malaria, dingue fever and jaundice, endured 308 days of combat, participated in two beachhead invasions, received two bronze arrowheads and a bronze star. The lasting effects of the tropical diseases made it impossible to work for a while after his discharge.
Now in his 83rd year he decided it was time to write about the things that changed his life.
His fervent prayers during those long frightening nights in the machine gun nest were heard and answered. His life was not always filled with happiness, but it is filled with joy, that joy is always there because of the one who gave himself for us, Jesus Christ, our savior and Lord.
