When 15-year-old Ada Mason is invited with her friends to go to a supposedly enchanted island just off the California coast, what can she do but play along? She stopped believing in magic and miracles when her brother died of  heart failure years before. Now, Ada starts having dreams and premonitions of haunting possibilities in a world she never thought was real, as one of her friends is plagued by seemingly nonexistent wraiths, and an evil villain seeks revenge in Ilthen, the last place where magic can be found.

When Ada begins hearing voices in her head from a tired old man, she begins to rethink her ideas of what exists and what does not. Between the pages of Until We Meet Again are mysteries and memories, vows and scars, secrets and questions, sadness and laughter, and the rapid process of a maturing soul.

I began work on Until We Meet Again when I was 11, after a dream I had about a talking tree on July 4th. I live in North Carolina, the same state I have lived my whole life, with my family. Between homework and writing, I am in my high school’s marching band, concert band, and I love to hang out with some of my best friends. I’m currently working on several other stories, including a possible prequel to Until We Meet Again, so keep your eyes open and thanks for reading!

The sun was setting straight ahead of us, sending a mosaic of reds, crimsons, and oranges splaying across the forest ahead, like a girl, bouncing and running as far as she could, and trying to reach her arms all the way across the sky in the last twenty minutes of the day. We watched as the red and orange beams faded away, and darker blue and black ones took their places. We watched the stars peek out from the curtain of black hung against the sky, and watched them get brighter as the city’s lights went out, and when a sliver of a moon that may once have been full lazily showed itself, we went to bed.

I awoke in the middle of the night after a puzzling dream. I had been on a boat with Snail, sailing over a cold, black ocean. He turned to me, and he had grown and melded into a huge, blue dragon with black eyes. He grabbed me, and snarled in my face, “Do not go! Do not go! Turn back or lose your former life and love! Do not go...”

What was that about? I thought after I was fully awake. Go where? Ilthen?
