Shannon inherited her mother’s sock monkey after her passing and was inspired by the monkey’s joyful smile, She gathered fun items that related to her Mother and created her first still life as a playful tribute. Shannon was surprised to discover that as she painted, text for a book emerged. More paintings were birthed and she continued to paint and write in this fashion until completion.
