Heaven Keeps Knocking is a controversial biography about one mans life in a world where we face the trials and tribulations of our worst nightmares.  As one walks through the revolving door of life, how much tragedy can one endure.

This story does not reflect a life of righteousness nor the shadow of mortal sin just the revelations of life.   My deepest secrets straight from the sole are brought out with no rock unturned.  Not only are the curveballs that life throws brought to the surface but also the magic moments.

Why we live as we do and make the drastic decisions that change our values and beliefs are explained without definition.  I have searched the world and my deepest thoughts to find out why we suffer pain and loss.  I had to travel around the world to find the answer at it was so simple.  A priest in Asia told me that God brings us pain and grief to test us and make us stronger.

I share with you my memoirs so that my legend of testaments lives on after heaven knocks on my door that final time.

Gregory A. Miller, descendant of Italian and Irish background, was born in 1962 and raised on Long Island, New York.  Mr. Miller was classified as the one who probably would not succeed in a career and was a milestone away from being Valor Victorian.  Being on his own since the age of fifteen, had forced him to accept menial but challengeable positions.  He has worked every form of employment to survive without resorting to public assistance or crime.   By the age of twenty-two, he had become a civil servant with the City of New York as a Truck Enforcement Officer.  In just eighteen short months, he achieved the rank of Lieutenant.  Lt. Miller served as acting Captain and moved onto being a City Wide Highway Patrol Lieutenant and then Staff Lieutenant.  During his first tens years of service, he Earned the Mayor’s Meritorious Service Award, four Outstanding Service Awards, two Unit Citations and numerous written commendations.

In 1992, Staff Lieutenant Miller became an Internal Affairs Investigator with the New York City Department of Transportation.  Shortly thereafter, Investigator Miller became the supervisor of the Special Investigations Unit and by 1994 was promoted to Supervising Investigator of the Division. During 1995, was again promoted and became the Chief to the Advocate General.  In 1996, Mr. Miller retired due to a line of duty injury and continued his studies in the criminal justice system achieving the new title of Para-legal.

Between 1998 and 2005, Mr. Miller has been a free-lance journalist for numerous published editorials focusing on advocating for children in foster care, local politics and fundraisers.  A professional colleague, who is also a friend and an author, inspired Mr. Miller to write.  Mr. Miller has just released his second book.  Currently Mr. Miller is the parent of four foster children and is in the process of adopting the oldest boy.  It is Mr. Miller’s goal and ambitions to adopt all of these children.  Currently Mr. Miller resides on the Executive Board for the Foster & Adoptive Parent Association and is The Anchor Parent for the Administration for Children’s Services, Circle of Support (LGBT) Group.

In my case I say who do I see when I see my reflection through the looking glass and then again the question may be whom do you see.  Nobody here has prepared this publication with a PHD in Psychotherapy or with a Doctrine in Psychiatry. Just little old me did it, with a degree from the hard school of knocks.

This book is an autobiography of my life and at no time have I meant to discredit or deceive any parties mentioned.  Everything contained in this book is fact and at no time has fiction been incorporated.

My book has been designed to assist those who feel that gender identity is a dirty word or a bad disease.  I speak of my living testaments and life long experiences that have often been frowned upon.  Walk with me a mile in my shoes and I shall carry you through my life’s trials and tribulations.

The question sometimes is asked, can a gay man or lesbian live the American dream or as some may say a normal and productive life within society.  This you will find out as you proceed in my shadow.
