Wafaa'
Al-Natheema has been writing poetry and prose since
the age of nine. This is her first
published book of poems. She was born
and raised in Baghdad, Iraq
and came to the United States
in 1980. She earned bachelor degrees in
Civil engineering (1986), and Political Science (1991) and went on to work in
both fields sometimes simultaneoulsy. Al-Natheema has twelve years of experience in translation from
and to Arabic in the fields of Medicine, law, business and literature. She is the founder of the Institute of Near
Eastern & African Studies (INEAS), a non-profit organization in Cambridge,
MA.
