About the Author

Né à Port-au-Prince, Dr. Joël Hilaire fit ses études primaires à Notre Dame du Sacré-Cœur et ses études secondaires au Juvénat Collège et au Centre d’Etudes Secondaires. L’un des directeurs du Centre d’Etudes Secondaires qui fut son professeur, le Dr. Pradel Pompilus, fut considéré avec le Frère Raphael Berrou comme les pères de la littérature haïtienne. En août 1986, il fut gradué à la Faculté de Médecine et de Pharmacie et se spécialisa en Médecine interne avant d’émigrer aux Etats-Unis où il vit avec sa famille depuis plus de 20 ans. Dr. Hilaire est aussi l’auteur d’une histoire vraie publiée en anglais et intitulée On The Other Side of the Desk. Il est l’actuel pasteur d’Orlando Gospel Assembly. Born in Port-au-Prince, Dr. Joël Hilaire studied for elementary school at Notre Dame du Sacré-Cœur and at Juvénat College and at Centre d’Etudes Secondaires for High School. One of the principals of Centre d’Etudes Secondaires who was his teacher, Dr. Pradel Pompilus, is considered along with Father Raphael Berrou as the fathers of the Haitian literature. In August 1986, he graduated from the School of Medicine and Pharmacy and specialized in Internal Medicine before migrating to the United States where he has lived over 20 years now with his family. He is also the author of a true story, self-help book published in English, On The Other Side of the Desk. He is currently the pastor of Orlando Gospel Assembly.
