As the two women entered their hotel, a man that looked vaguely familiar approached them and introduced himself as Louis Carpenter. He claimed to be one of Louise’s neighbors in Charleston and Belle recognized him at once as a poorly disguised Jake Turner. He offered his services as an escort and Belle politely declined. She told him that she was familiar with the city, had business to attend to, and did not require an escort since she had Mr. Blakeman. She asked that he tell Louise hello and that she looked forward to her next visit. Jake immediately called Louise and told her, “I think the old woman is onto me. She declined my offer to be an escort and said she had more business to take care of. They went to two banks already and didn’t carry anything out with them from either one. About the Author
Mary Jo Stanley published the first novel in this series, "Paper Secrets", in December, 2010. She now resides in Jacksonville, NC with her husband of almost 35 years. They are parents of three sons, Joseph, Eric, and Brian. She has taught math and science for almost 34 years at both the high school and middle school levels.
