One of the most important components of your success will be your choices and management of relationships. We must be selective in our choice of associations. Not by judging others, but by discerning values and traits in them consistent with ours. There is nothing wrong with having differences with your associates. However, they should be complementary, not contradictory. There are often people who express disbelief at the news of the immoral/illegal activities of someone they knew in their youth/ It is my contention that this result is no surprise at all. Those in disbelief probably neglected to observe the relationships this individual made during his/her formidable childhood years. If YOU would like to know how you are going to turn out look at your five closest friends. They are a reflection of YOU more than you know. We must all make sure that those closest to us share our core values, and are supportive of our ambitions. It’s also a good idea to not be the smartest, wealthiest, wisest, or most successful person in each of our groups of friends. Relationships should always be RECIPROCAL (give and take) and in order for you to have lifelong development you need people in your life who challenge you to grow. Not those just along for the ride.

Having enjoyed some notable academic, athletic, and entrepreneurial accomplishments in his life, retired NFL player, Lifestyle Coach, Business Consultant, and Motivational Speaker Tim Watson is sharing successful anecdotes from the classroom, field, and life in this semi-autobiographical must read! We must clearly identify our INSPIRATIONS in order to achieve our ASPIRATIONS. This statement is the premise to any true success. Without personally defined motivation, it will be impossible to reach and sustain accomplishments of any real value. This is the only means by which we are able to persevere through challenges and doubt. Intrinsically we are not wired to navigate through and beyond extreme challenge. Our natural tendency is to cease effort when the obstacle appears insurmountable. This book shares principles which address the proper nurturing needed in our Minds, Bodies, and Spirits in order to reach beyond mediocrity and LIVE EXTRAORDINARILY in relationships, careers, fitness, and finances!
About the Author
About the Author: Conditioning for excellence has been the theme of Tim’s life since childhood. Reaching beyond the norm and preparing to dwell amongst the best in whatever objectives he chose has guided his path to success. As a three-sport (football, basketball, and track) athlete and honors student at Peach County High School in Fort Valley, GA, Tim excelled on the field of play and in the classroom. Upon graduating in 1988, he received a number of college scholarship offers for football. He chose Howard University over more notable football programs. At Howard, Tim continued a prosperous scholastic and football career. He has the distinction of being the first Athlete in the history of the school to be named to the GTE Academic All-America Team. Tim was also named All-Conference, All-American, and Defensive Player of the Year in each of his final two college seasons. Scholastically, he was chosen by the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences to participate in the National Name Exchange for outstanding academic achievement by juniors and seniors and was selected a lifetime member of the Golden Key International Honour Society. Tim completed his undergraduate studies earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Merchandising and Business Marketing 1992. He also completed Post-Graduate studies in Athletic Administration. Most recently Tim was honored with induction in 2005 into the Howard Athletics Hall of Fame. The Green Bay Packers drafted Tim in the 1993 NFL Rookie Draft. He went on to have a well-traveled 7-year professional football career, playing alongside such NFL legends as Joe Montana, Marcus Allen, and Ronnie Lott. During his career he served as a Captain for both the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles. On his way to reaching the pinnacle of his career Tim met the anticipated obstacles and detractors. However, he believed that nothing could stand in the way of his achieving greatness. He credits proper preparation, attitude, motivation, relationships, and information for his continued success. Tim has been able to catapult his personal business ventures by applying the wisdom of time-tested lessons from the “gridiron” and everyday life. In addition to Life Coaching and general Speaking engagements Tim serves as a Financial Services Specialist with State Farm Insurance. In this role, he helps Agents in their Good Neighbor pledge by sharing various Insurance and financial services strategies with the vastly underserved markets of Middle-America. With an enduring passion for helping others; he shares his business insights, life-skills, and sales expertise from an entertaining, engaging, and unique perspective. With a passionate and frank delivery style, Tim has become an invaluable resource for companies, sports teams, schools, and youth organizations. Answering the call to Christian ministry, Tim was ordained Non-denominationally in the spring of 2002. He is also a Certified Life Coach, Small Business Coach, Corporate Wellness Coach, Certified Personal Fitness Trainer, and Certified Training Director. Tim and wife Audrey live in Atlanta, GA. He’s also the proud father of three children: Tre’ (7/96), Lexi (7/97), and Christian (5/99). The Watsons remain active in their local community through charitable work via involvement with the NFL Alumni Association, The Tampa Beautification Program (with which Tim serves on the Board of Trustees), their local church home, and through their personal philanthropic organization (UPLIFT Excellence Foundation, Inc.) where they provide food and toys annually to families in need during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. As additional charitable outlets, Tim coaches and sponsors youth football and basketball programs, instructs youth sports camps, and conducts life-skills seminars for young students and scholar-athletes. He is also honored to hold the distinction of membership in Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.
