AuthorHouse Authors Earn Bronze Awards from ForeWord Magazine
Two Winners Chosen from 613 Finalists
Bloomington, Ind.—Two AuthorHouse authors won Bronze awards in their respective categories in the 2005 ForeWord Magazine Book of the Year Award. Contest winners were announced at BookExpo America in Washington, D.C. BEA is the largest book publishing event in North America.
Fred Carrier, author of Maurice and Alec in America, won the Bronze Award in the Gay/Lesbian Fiction Category. Carrier’s novel chronicles the lives of a gay couple fighting opposition and rejection in the critical society of the 1920s.
J.G. Eastwood won the Bronze Award for her juvenile fiction book, Dragon. Eastwood’s story unravels the adventures of a young girl and her friend encountering dangerous and exciting experiences in everyday life.
The books were judged on originality, writing and production quality, and reader interest in the subject matter. The jury included librarians, booksellers and reviewers. Award categories ranged from self-help to autobiographical.
