AuthorHouse Sponsors National Writers’ Conference in Fishers

-- Academy Award Winning Writer Angelo Pizzo Headlines Conference --

(Indianapolis) -- The WriteStuff Writers’ Boot Camp and Conference will be bringing their national writers program to the Fishers Convention Center April 27 - 28. With national sponsors AuthorHouse®, Writers’ Digest Magazine/F+W Books, Google Book Search, and Sony E-Book Reader, WriteStuff gives attendees the inspiration and knowledge to further their personal writing journeys. Anyone writing a book, poetry, short stories, children’s book, screenplay, or just for fun would benefit from attending this two-day event.

“Based on feedback from previous conferences, we have added the Friday Boot Camp, the kick-off breakfast on Saturday, and increased our tour to include eight cities around the United States,” said Andy Murphy, a published author, literary agent and executive director of WriteStuff Writers. “The publishing industry has changed dramatically over the last five years and we make a point to help writers navigate through the channels and avoid a lot of the pitfalls most authors make.”

“AuthorHouse is proud to have partnered with WriteStuff Writers for the 2007 tour,” said Tom Britt, director of author development at AuthorHouse and faculty member of WriteStuff Writers. “Unlike many writers’ conferences, WriteStuff puts an emphasis on the Internet and other distribution channels afforded to all authors.”

Headlining this year’s WriteStuff Conference is Academy Award Winner Angelo Pizzo, writer/producer of “Hoosiers” and “Rudy”. He will be speaking on Saturday morning after the kick-off breakfast and participating on a “Book to Film” panel discussion with other film industry experts.

Other local speakers include Diane Willis (former ABC anchor, Willis & Lee Publicity); Dick Wolfsie (author columnist, television personality); Reid Duffy (author, columnist, television personality); Sarah Mynet (screenwriter); Jeff Sparks (director of Heartland Film Festival); Brian Owens (director, International Film Festival); Steve Mara (producer, Adrenaline Motion Pictures); Dan Hall (producer, VID Media), Marcia Ellett (managing editor of Life Press Publishing); Tom Britt (publisher, AuthorHouse); Tom Doughtery (president, Cardinal Publishing Group); and several area authors and agents.

The Boot Camp is held on Friday, April 27 in the neighboring Hilton Garden Inn. Participation is limited to only 50 people so that each attendee receives the maximum amount of one-on-one instruction, feedback, critique, and advice from WriteStuff’s professional staff. Friday evening, the WriteStuff will play host to a “Meet the Author” reception where authors from all over the Midwest will come and network with other authors and aspiring writers.

Saturday’s WriteStuff Writers’ Conference is an all-day instructional program with workshops taught by notable publishing professionals. Attendees can meet and learn from celebrity authors, professional book editors, literary agents, film writers and producers, and publishers.

Both days are open to the public. A full boot camp and conference package is $349, the conference only package is $99 (if you register before March 27). To register or learn more, visit www.WriteStuffWriters.com.
