Mark Crouch: Words to Stir the Soul
World's Largest Publishing Industry Event Features Book Signing by Spiritual Poet
BLOOMINGTON , Ind. - Mark Crouch will sign copies of his new book of poetry, God's Book of Dreams: A Collection of Inspirational Poems and Essays (now available through AuthorHouse) at BookExpo America 2004 in Chicago from June 4 through 6.
God's Book Of Dreams , Crouch's second volume of poetry, taps the spiritual vein of living that so often lies hidden underneath the thick skin of daily routine. Each poem explores an aspect of life that may escape contemplation if one is not aware. From his reflections on people's individual personalities to the unique qualities found in nature, Crouch crafts his words into rhythmic songs of praise to God. The following excerpt from "The Untold Story," illustrates his style.
You have made my time fulfilled/ Many pages now I've filled/ 'Bout the earth You made for me,/ Through Your Eyes You help me see/ Your creation, I'm but one/ That You daily look upon/ I'm so grateful that You care/ And with me Your secrets share/ Of the rhythm life can bring,/ Wind and birds together sing/ Insects in their cadence near/ Sing Your praises out so clear
Interspersed among the poems are essays that discuss a variety of topics. Crouch allows his words to flow seamlessly from the heart, sharing experiences on which he has meditated and inviting readers to relate these musings to their own lives. With revealing honesty, he explores his mistakes and regrets along with the lighter moments of his life.
With poignancy, humor and intelligence, Crouch enlightens readers to the beauty of daily life while he opens minds to the comfort and strength that spirituality can provide.
Crouch was born in Egypt to missionary parents, but he did not show inclinations toward a spiritual lifestyle until later in life. He dropped out of college because he considered it "boring and uninviting." After becoming a successful salesman, he enjoyed many travel opportunities, which satisfied his curious nature and his thirst for adventure. He eventually returned to his spiritual upbringing and began to study the Bible. His first book of poetry, Portraits of Life , is also available through AuthorHouse.
