About the Author

With a career spanning three decades, Helen Oliver has been an educator committed to child advocacy and education. Born on the Caribbean island of Montserrat and raised in London, England, she later relocated to the United States in 1980, residing in Mississippi, Pennsylvania, and North Carolina. Now retired, Helen is a multifaceted individual with a passion for writing, cooking, gardening, and connecting with new people. Her educational background includes a Ph.D. in educational leadership from the University of Mississippi, complemented by a master's degrees in educational psychology and a bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Nottingham. Throughout her career, she taught in both England and the United States, even founding and leading a non-profit organization dedicated to at-risk children, which garnered support from local and state governments in Mississippi. In her retirement, Helen remains active in the literary community as a member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI), continuing to inspire through her writing and advocacy efforts. Autonea Evans graduated from Rust College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics. Currently, she serves as a full-time mathematics teacher for Journey Community Schools. Paul Francis began his journey in the art world in 2000, crafting storyboards and comic strips for The Source magazine and other notable Hip hop publications like Mynt, Smooth, and Feds. Transitioning from 2D illustration to 3D animation, Paul honed his skills and expanded his repertoire, emerging as a dedicated and accomplished artist. Now, at the helm of a diverse studio capable of producing animated entertainment across various genres, as well as video games and virtual landscapes, Paul Francis stands at the forefront of technology, poised to deliver top-tier urban entertainment to audiences worldwide.
